I was given a 14k white gold engagement ring 3 weeks ago. It looks as if it were burned on one side. It has somehow gotten tarnished. I’m not sure what happened. The only thing I can possibly think of was that I cleaned the bathroom with bleach a couple of weeks ago. Could this have caused it? What can be done to get it off? It won’t wipe away or even scratch off.
It was bought from a jeweler in the mall and is stamped 14K Y.TR .70.

Bring it to a jeweler. My ring is old-fashioned gold, so it doesn’t tarnish, but I think that one of the metals blended with gold to make it white gold is silver. Perhaps the chlorine in the bleach tarnished it, and a professional can show you how to keep it looking perfect.

I work in a jewellers & sell this sort of thing, I would recomend you go into a few jewellers before making a purchase & ask them to show you various sizes of stone & also show you them sat with a wedding band (due to the shape of the stone you may need a specially made wedding band) also ask them to explain to you the 4 C’s and best of luck!
